TCG meets Future Age to find out the answers for common queries a student who wishes to study abroad has.

1. Please enlighten us on the process involved in getting a student visa in
USA?
FA: Apply to universities
• Get the I -20
• Block a date for the visa interview & get your visa done.
2. What are the prerequisites student visas?
FA: All the Academic Documents
• Passport
• GRE/Toefl score cards
• Financial documents
• Sevis fee receipt
• HDFC Bank fee receipt
3. Do you have any tie-up with universities in the USA? If so, can you
provide some details about the same?
FA:  Yes we do have tie-ups with over 50 universities including all reputed ones, in
USA. We help the student in identifying a college/university that best matches his
profile and requirements.
4. Can you name some universities which the Indians prefer most?
FA: New York Institute of Technology in USA
• Greenwich University in UK
• Central Queensland University in Australia
• Dublin institute of Technology in Ireland
5. What are the most-preferred options for the students in the MS for the
Indians?
FA:  Engineering Programs
• Science Programs &
• Business Programs.
6. Do students get any work permits during their study in the universities
in the USA? If so, how helpful are they?
FA: Yes, students are allowed to work 20hrs per week. They can work on campus and
Off campus on partime jobs. They can earn on an average 700-800 dollars per month.
This work permit is applicable to all the countries i.e., UK, Australia & Ireland.
7. Some students go to the USA with an intention of migrating to the
country. How good are the chances for these types of students to
continue their stay in the USA?
FA: As per the rules once the student completes his masters he has to come
back to India. However, students do get
employment offers from
companies while they are in college. There are opportunities for working
on projects while studying which gives them further opportunity to get
absorbed subsequently.
8. In the present scenario, how you foresee the prospects of the Indian
students to get work permits (H1B visa) in the USA?
• It depends on the student capability, his profile, his electives chosen,
projects undertaken, etc.
9. How do you think will be the impact of the so-called recession in the
USA, though still the USA is ‘officially’ yet to admit about the recession in their economy.
Many of the international students prefer USA as their Degrees are recognised worldwide. The facilities available for higher education in technology, advanced sciences, applied sciences and for conducting research into advanced faculties, biological sciences with adequate safety measures, etc., are available abundantly in the universities there. The symbiosis between industry and educational institutions is much higher in that country. So as mentioned the so called recession may have very little impact on the enrolment of international students.
10. With lay-offs in particular, not good signals are emanating from the USA. Your comments on that?
The recession as visualized is not a fulfledged recession, but at best could be a slow down. Especially for indain students, it is a win win situation in either case. If they cant get absorbed in that country, they can get absorbed in indain wings of those companies. Primarily at student level, lay-offs may not matter.
11. Will there be any change in the USA’s stand over giving student visas/job opportunities to the Indians in the post-George Bush scenario, since there is a lot of controversy that the Indians are depriving job opportunities to the locals in the USA?
FA: This is purely based on the internal dynamics of USA over which we have very little or nil influence. Historically, USA has been a very self-centered economy, with no concern for global impact. But, looing at the trend, it can be safely said that which ever party comes to secure the Presidential
post, it is the Congress in that country that decides the laws. As of now, the trend is not reversible. International students are necessary for running he economies of the universities, be it research work or peripheral
activities, and international work force is required to fill the gaps in critical programmes.
12. Other than the USA, what are the education prospects for the B Tech
pass-out students in countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, France, Germany etc
FA:Except for the dominion differences, the opportunities are more or less similar in every case. Every country has its own importance and entirely depends on students choice as to which country he would like to persue his Further studies.
13. Do you suggest that Indians should prefer these countries for their study in the present scenario?
FA:Yes, very much. India is the only country having an excellent resource in terms of  its
young and able minds. It is the only country, ahead of china, that has a median age of
population at 22 years. It has more than half of its population, which is above 600 million, under 22 years. They are
intelligent, hard working, willing to learn, and have great appetite for earning money. The only way the country can leverage this position is by ensuring proper advanced education for the youth. They will be ready to fill emerging positions across the world in the coming decades. Hence, the students in India should grab every opportunity to go abroad to advanced countries o study to equip themselves. We should do every thing possible to make this a reality.
