Get Cracking IIT-JEE
Posted on : 18-12-2010 - Author : Sri D. Baleevada

Success lies in effective planning and executing study. The IIT-JEE examination fever is catching on.Many students are spending endless hours in the libraries, while some are planning to crack mock tests. Extra special classes, combined study, late night learning sessions or early hour tuitions…are the in thing. Most students dread taking the IIT-JEE, which is ready knocking on the door. There is lot of competition – the brilliant, mediocre and average are all competing to enter the portals of IIT. Remember the story of the hare and the tortoise… with a little effort and selfconfidence, the tortoise was able to overtake the over confident hare and won the race. Smart work, eh! But then, due to factors like high expectations, students feel burdened to complete the prescribed syllabus. They need proper guidance to crack the examinations effectively. To be successful, there are some factors to be adhered to.

Success…Sour grapes?
The ‘mantra’ to success lies within you, which is a combination of time management and self study. You are your preacher and when you follow this mantra to success, you are sure to come out with flying colours. Commitment, dedication and hard work are the three golden rules for  success. There is no shortcut, no definite formulas to ace the JEE. You have to do the whole syllabus extensively as you can’t be sure what will be asked in the paper. All IIT aspirants are required to work very hard for two years and then reap its benefits for a life time. There are certain factors to practice in order to emerge successful in the engineering entrance exams. First and foremost, maintain commitment towards your goal, self-confidence, there are good teachers willing to help you.

Clear your doubts immediately.
IIT-JEE fervor The Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), bears a noteworthy fame for an entrance to the 17 IITs in India. Cracking IIT-JEE is not that easy, as it is a gateway for meritorious students. Hence, the question paper is set with high standards and ace quality to assure consistent quality results. A wide range of aspects come under IIT-JEE, nuclear engineering, electronics, textile engineering, aerospace engineering and the likes.

The right time
The ideal time to get enrolled in an IIT programme is around Class X or XI. IIT-JEE programme has been incorporated in CBSE school studies and they stand an advantage over the others. Many of them should make it a point to clear their doubts when they arise and not postpone it to some other day. Try to crack as many practice papers as possible and compare performance from time to time. One needs to be extremely focused from the very beginning. If your eye is on IIT- JEE, concentrate on math and science.

Time management
Studying is a big commitment and needs time to work on it. Maintain a good time sense to achieve your target. By managing your time, other commitments can be fulfilled and you can study without distractions. The problems are real, but make your action plan for the week and stick to it. This will help you study and deal with your other responsibilities in the best way.Sketch a Time-table You need to balance time. If you are bad at balancing things make a personal study imetable. Even if you do not stick to it, you will have an idea what you should be doing each  day. This is better than trying to do everything each day and, at the end of the week, not achieve anything.

You can make a calendar for each tress of the syllabi, and refer to it every day and follow its indications strictly. It is best to keep up with your work. A time-table should be arranged each week,  to ensure that you do not fall behind.Never fret about the quantity of syllabus. Rather go into the quality and content and soon, you will find your lesson interesting to get through. Always look at your assignments as a challenge. If you fall under the impression that the subject is too hard to crack, you tend to slow down to a snail pace. The same task thought of as a challenge can spur you on.Have all your assignments and deadlines on your finger tips and maintain meeting them right from day one.If you organise your study hours around important commitments, such as work and family, you will find that you can cope quite well with what is expected of you.
