Higher Education
Posted on : 25-02-2009 - Author : A Prashanth Vignesh

Tough times bring in opportunities. Global recession and the economic meltdown have hit across the borders and domains. Everyone has been affected to a more or less extent and fresh graduates are not any exception to the prevailing situation.

By now, it is evident that many campus offerings made by the companies either have been put on hold for further policy revival or could not just take off. The job markets are overflowing with high profiled resumes to trainees and thus have stiffened the competition. Also, added to the above, the increasing market meltdown fears, cost saving measures, downtrends in IT investments do create panic among students
and parents too.
All worlds don’t end here; the concerns about their next moves to succeed have answers in form of higher education either domestic or abroad and the safest option of the lot. Enrolling for higher education is a dually advantageous option and a strategic career move; where it increases the scale of opportunities for us by providing time and space to weigh for wishful actions and derive comforts from the decisions.

I, therefore, wish to introduce to you the trends and contexts which can drive you to make a confident move in picking higher education as
a right option.

1. Preparedness: Higher education serves the purpose powerfully and advances a context to develop a new set of resources for the times to come; a universal theory that comes in full circle and we should play it our way.

The pick of instances about this state of preparedness can be India itself, which stood as an example when the IT revolution happened in the ‘90’s, where our institutions had nurtured enough resources in line to match the demands of the wave and continue to lead and rule the IT and software services space till date than any. We were unknowingly prepared for this; where as China and other Asian nations were not just prepared.

2. Exposure: Higher education with international exposure will always be rewarded and an abroad opportunity is one such sure thing to work in your favor in times. The enrollment in higher education abroad creates a broader canvas for a futuristic and rewarding career in terms of exposure, exchange, experience and efficiency.

Such exposure can improve our competence in identifying, developing talents for newer processes and solutions which can benefit the future businesses, organisations and customer demands.

3. Lead ahead: Innovation is known to be new age character; the exposure to high standard studies, research facilities, new markets, range of study choices, systems and resources can lead us ahead to shape up our vision.

The moment had come for India to shift from its present adaptation to global trends and catching up with the trends to a lead ahead the next revolution with solutions for the future.
4. Application: The learning quotient strengthens our ability with university or college or student twining programs offered in the higher education, increases value to your experience with various programs like campus incubators, improves your efficiency with partnerships, fellowship, apprentice programs and industry associations that can carve greater horizons of hope and future.

5. The need: The choice of taking higher education in developed nations is more affordable than ever and conditions around encourage joining such courses; pick your choice of interest.

More than ever the developed nations are more in demand of better solutions to fix their affected systems and processes; the need we can make work for us. The recently concluded G-20 conference had set the stage for the shifted focus towards the valued advices of our prime minister by the world leaders, who were all of their ears, also the voice of developing nations for the first time have been part of the drafted resolutions and this is just a token of the future.

As every economic downturn brings in the chaos and crisis, also every good time comes with new hope, systems, ambience and ambitions along with the new demands for new strengths and capabilities to cope up those conditions. Why don’t you be the element of change for good and good times to come and lead.

“The whole object of education is...to develop the mind. The mind should be a thing that works.” .So these are the times where decisions are made by mind.

We wish you good Times.
