Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in association with Hansa Medcell, is offering a US International PG Programme through Distance Education in three subjects: All three programmes will cover the clinical aspects of these specialties in-depth.
The course is best suited for those medical practitioners who cannot break away from their daily practice to acquire specialised skills. General practitioners, consultant physicians and orthopedics are all welcome to apply for any of the three specialties.
Why do this?
Incidences of cardiac, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis are rising. A fairly significant part of daily clinical practice of a clinician goes towards managing these ailments.
This is the opportunity for clinicians to gain up to date skills and improve their practice. H a n s a MedCell, an independent provider of continuing medical education, has been licensed exclusively to provide the programmes.
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has developed these programmes in collaboration with Medical Education and Scientific Foundation, New York. The mission of the university is to educate medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in accordance with the highest professional standards; to prepare clinicians to practice patient-centred medicine of the highest standard; and to identify and answer fundamental questions in the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of disease, in healthcare delivery and basic sciences. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Medicine or a Bachelor’s degree in medicine with a minimum of three years clinical experience in the specialty are eligible to apply. The international fee for the programme is US$1800, and is available to doctors in South Asia at Rs 60,000. Educational grants are available on a limited basis that further subsidise the course fee. This programme is approved for release from August, 2012 through February 2014. The programme will then be reviewed, updated if necessary, and released for the next two-and-ahalf years.
