HYDERABAD : Eamcet engineer ing counselling began in 52 centres across the state on Thursday amidst protest by BC unions at some places over the non-inclusion of `fee reimbursement' scheme in the counselling notification issued by the government. While 30,000 students were called for coun selling, 20,000 turned up.

The Chief Minister, Mr N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, directed the officials at a highlevel meet to immediately issue a ‘clarification’ to clear doubts over the implementation of the scheme.

Orders were issued to put notices at counselling centres stating that the scheme is applicable to those students whose annual family income is less than `1 lakh.
