Hyderabad: With just a day left for the Online registration of applications to avail the Government of India Scholarships for minority Students an Unusual rush was seen at the Mandal officers and Cyber cafes on Saturday. A large number of students and parents flocked theMandal officers to get the income certificate and also to file the application online. Tomorrow being Sunday, the rush was at particularly heavy at the Mandal officers.
Students also gathered in large numbers at the office of the A.P State Minorities Finance Corporation at Haj House to seek clarifications.
Throughout the day there was intense Speculation whether the last date for Online registration of applications would be extended.
“Only on Sunday evening we will know whether the date will be extended or not .it is for the government to decide ,” said Ilyas Rizvi, Managing director, APSMFC.
Interesting the number of applications have already crossed the target fixed for the target fixed for the Pre-mac Scholarship for the State. As against the Target of 1.17 lakh,more than 1.50 lakh had already applied by Saturday evening, The number of touch 4 lakh by Sunday night.
LAST MINUTE RUSH: Students filing online applications for the Central Government’s Pre-matric minorities scholarship in the city on Saturday.
The Post-Matric Scholarship applications are also set to exceed the target of 22,761.A total of 20,000 students had applied by Saturday evening.
For renewal of post-Matric Scholarship of State government,41,000 applications were received as against the target of 80,000. July 31 is the last date for this also.
The maximum number of applicants are3 from Hyderabad followed by kadapah, Kurnool and Nizambad. The biggest Problem for the APSMFC is to verify the Online applications with the enclosures submitted to the Schools and colleges to check the Whether the income Certificates ,Marks and bonafide admissions Certificates are proper or not.
The Corporation is engaging services of data operators to verify the applications “We need more than 2oo Computers and as many persons to complete this exercise in Ten days”,Said Mr.Rizvi.
