In a major recruitment drive, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Monday issued the notification to fill up 263 Group-I posts in 19 categories, the highest number in recent times.
The recruitment drive is part of the government’s endeavour to fill 1.16 lakh posts in various departments by December this year as announced by the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. For the first time in the history of APPSC, it also announced the schedule for Group-I Prelims and Main exams along with the notification. The prelims will be held on May 27, 2012, while main exams will be conducted from October 3, 2012, across the state.The online applications for Group-I posts will be accepted from December 9, 2011 to January 8, 2012. APPSC had last issued Group-I notification in December 2008 to fill 210 posts. However, the recruitment process could not be completed till now due to various reasons. APPSC has completed the prelims and mains exams and has scheduled personal interviews for short-listed candidates, from January 4 to February 10, 2012.
