Visakhapatnam-based GITAM University is conducting GAT-2012 for admission into B.Tech and M.Tech courses in 18 centres all over India including Rajahmundry in East Godavari district from April 15 to May 4.
Registrar of the University M. Pota Raju, at a press conference here on Thursday, said that as many as 2,800 seats in B.Tech and 420 seats in M.Tech courses in the GITAM campuses at Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad would be filled through the admission test.He said that the University would provide free education to the top 10 rankers of the admission test and concession would be provided to those who secured ranks below 100.
Mr. Pota Raju said that besides applying online by logging on to the University website www.gitam.edu, students could also get the application forms from the nearby branches of Indian Bank and Union Bank of India.He said that the students could choose a slot that would be comfortable to them during the prescribed period and know their marks at the end of the examination.The results would be declared on May 10 and the counselling would be held at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Tirupati.
