The Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal on Friday stayed the process of conducting interviews for Group-I candidates selected in Mains exam by the AP Public Service Commission. However, the APPSC has decided to approach the AP High Court over the issue on Monday. The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Comm ission (APPSC) has sched uled interviews for 416 shortlisted candidates from January 4 to February 10, 2012.
The tribunal issued interim stay orders after several candidates who took the Mains exam in Telugu complained that they lost close to 200 marks due to translation errors in question papers from English to Telugu.The tribunal directed APPSC not to conduct interviews till January 20 and asked it to file addi tional counter affidavit on the issue by then.The APPSC, which held an emergency meeting on Friday evening in the wake of the tribunal's order, has decided to approach the High Court over the issue on Monday It has planned to file a vacate petition on the stay order, and will take a cal on postponing the inter views based on the out come of the case in the High Court.
