Many protests and court hearings later,1,08,127 candidates passed the advanced physics supplementary examination,the results of which were announced by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Saturday.Out of the 1,55,512 candidates who had failed in the physics paper,1,38,646 had appeared for the supplementary examination,indicating a pass percentage of 77.98%.
The cumulative pass percentage including the number of students who had passed the exam now stands at 82.53 for general and 70.89 for vocational candidates.
The BIE declared the results of Intermediate second year on Saturday.A total of 5,74,391 students,including 27,436 vocational course candidates had taken the examination.
The total pass percentage for general candidates stood at 65.83 and 40.6 for vocational candidates.
Further,the number of students who passed improvement exam was 1,77,736 and non-improvement candidates 1,82,304.However,results of vocational candidates dipped from 75.57% in 2010 to 70.89% in 2011.Visakhapatnam district recorded the highest pass percentage of 76 while Hyderabad district came last with a pass percentage of 54.
