The Eamcet-2012 results will be announced on Friday at 6 pm. The marks and ranks will be sent by SMS directly to the students’ mobile numbers provided in their application forms.

The results were earlier scheduled to be announced on June 30. However, as deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narasimha has to take part in the SC/ST sub-plan meeting scheduled in Kurnool on Saturday.

JNTUHyderabad, which conducted Eamcet, was forced to advance the release of the results by a day. The deputy CM will release the results at JNTU-Masab Tank.

Officials at one point had thought of releasing the results through principal secretary of higher education G. Gopal on June 30, but since the deputy CM was keen to participate, the higher education department advanced the release.

There were also proposals from the deputy CM’s peshi for releasing the results from Kurnool on June 30.

But this idea was dropped given the “logistic problems” involved in the process, besides the hardships to be faced by media in covering the event.

After a gap of three years, Eamcet marks and ranks will be released simultaneously by giving 25 per cent weightage to 10+2 marks while determining ranks.

The Eamcet results were held back for more than a month, till the Inter supplementary exams were out.
