Eighteen private engineering colleges from across the state submitted affidavits before the AP High Court on Wednesday, stating that they have implemented the pay scale prescribed by the Sixth Pay Commission for their faculty and nonteaching staff.
The move comes a day after a Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice P.C. Ghose and Justice Vilas V. Afzulpurkar observed that only colleges that have imple
mented the revised pay scales are eligible to fix their annual fee at `50,200 instead of `35,000, as prescribed by AFRC.
The institutions that filed the affidavits are BVR Institute of Science and Technology, SRK Institute of Technology, Vijaya Institute of Technology for Women, Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women, Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering, Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology, G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science for Women, JB Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Degree and PG Courses Technical campus, Gayatri Vidya
Parishad College of Engineering for Women, Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering, Vasavi Engineering College, SSN Engineering College, Sasi Institute of Technology Engineering, Devineni Venkataramana and Dr Hemasekhar College of Technology, Sangam Lakshmi Bai Vidyapeet, Deccan College of Engineering and Technology and Nalla Malla Reddy College of Engineering.
