A two-member team of the US Consulate, Hyderabad comprising Anna Z. Kephart, Fraud Prevention Manager and Anuradha Selvarajan, Fraud Investigation Specialist, visited the Acharya Nagarjuna University as part of their sensitisation programme on curbing the menace of fake certificates.
They interacted with Vice-Chancellor K. Viyanna Rao and professors Y.P. Rama Subbaiah, R.R.L. Kantam, Z. Vishnuvardhan, D. Satyanarayana and M. Sai Baba.
The US Consulate team is on a visit to universities for spreading awareness about the issue of marks lists, provisional certificates, consolidated lists and original degrees and the scope for frauds.
Ms. Kephart wanted the students to avoid contact with vendors who offer help on a voluntary basis and charge fees for that. She also advised students not to purchase fake documents from vendors.
Mr. Viyanna Rao suggested to the US Consulate team to organise more such programmes to spread awareness about the process of obtaining visas to the US and about the educational system and employment opportunities in that country.
