A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose and Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar on Friday felt that private engineering colleges could be permitted to run ‘second shift’ polytechnics on their campuses.
The Bench was allowing writ appeals filed by private engineering colleges who challenged the interim orders of a single judge and other division bench who stayed the ‘second shift’. The Private Polytechnic Managements Association had filed a petition challenging the action of the State government in introducing second shift polytechnic courses in engineering colleges in the year 2009.
