Osmania University postponed its first year MBA exams starting on Thursday, apparently due to the non-submission of approval letters by some colleges. The exams will now start on February 21.
These colleges have also reportedly not paid their affiliation fee to the University so far. The university insists that candidates admitted to the MBA course through Single window-II and Single Window-III (for minority institutions) be ratified by the APSCHE. Apparently, about 30 colleges failed to get approval letters from APSCHE on time.
The Director of Academic Audit Cell, OU, K. Pratap Reddy said colleges were supposed to pay affiliation fee of around Rs. 22,000 per batch of 60 students, at the start of the academic year. An official said these colleges were linking the fee reimbursement scheme to the affiliation fee to avoid payment. It is this confusion that has led to the postponement of exams. Officials say the issue will be resolved in a couple of days.
