Indian Pharmaceutical Association Chairman (Education Division) T.V. Narayana stressed the need for better research output from the thousands of pharmacy colleges existing in the country and for the pharmacists to be research-oriented in order to achieve results at par with that of world leaders in pharmacology and related fields.
Addressing a seminar ‘Pharma Rejuvenate’ at SIMS College of Pharmacy here on Friday, Mr. Narayana said more investments have to be made on inventing new drug molecules and while doing that better platforms for understanding the basic research needed to be set up. The number of graduates and post-graduates coming out of pharmacy colleges is expected to reach one million by 2020 and they must duly focus on the research component. Pharmacy Council of India president B. Suresh, SIMS Group of Institutions Secretary & Correspondent B. Siva Sireesha, Director B. Bharath Reddy and others participated.
