Andhra University has requested UGC to permit to conduct the AP State Eligibility Test (SET) for three years and promised to provide the facilities and resources.
Eligibility in SET is considered for recruitment of lecturers and assistant professors in the State’s universities, degree colleges and institutes of higher learning.
Vice-Chancellor in-charge E.A. Narayana, Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao, SET 2016 Member-Secretary K. Srinivasa Rao and others explained the facilities and experience AU is having in conducting the SET and other competitive examinations for the last many years, to a team from UGC headed by Indramhan Kapai and with Ashwini K. Mahapatra and Ranveer Singh as Members and Surendra Singh as Coordinating Officer, during its visit to the university on Tuesday.
They have explained the university’s achievements like securing NAAC certification with a score of 3.6 points, etc. It has already established an office for SET 2016 on a 5,000 sft premises. Prof. Kapai and others after inspecting the SET office, inquired about the way the SET is being conducted and precautions to be taken.
AP ICET Convenor K. Rama Mohana Rao, Principals of campus colleges and SET advisors were also present.
