Fourteen students of V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College have secured placement in Huawei, a China-based leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, in a recruitment drive the company representatives conducted in the two Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, president of Siddhartha Academy P. Lakshmana Rao said it was a moment to celebrate for the Academy as the children pursuing various courses in institutions run by it were emerging with flying colours.
He said the recruited students were offered a package of Rs. 8 lakh per annum.
College convenor and Academy vice-president M. Rajaiah said placements of students in highly reputed companies reflected the high standards of education maintained in the colleges.
The college Placement Officer Vijaya Maruti Babu said the thrust of the education pattern imparted in the college was on making students industry-ready.
National seminar today
Principal Ratna Prasad, Dean Panduranga Rao and heads of various departments complimented the selected students.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the college will organise a two-day national seminar on ‘Recent Advances in I.C. Engines”.
Anshul Agarwal, Manager, Research and Development Centre, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Chennai, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session on Thursday.
