Warangal is the new addition to the centres for the Civil Services examinations as per the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) notification released on Wednesday.
The notification has been issued for 1,079 positions to fill vacancies in 24 services and all graduates above the age of 21 years are eligible to appear for the examination. The last date for sending filled applications is May 27.
Six centres
With this there are six centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the Preliminary - Hyderabad, Warangal, Anantapur Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
For the Main examination Vijayawada will be the additional centre along with Hyderabad. The notification was to be released last week but got postponed for reasons unknown.
With regard to the examination, the maximum age limit and the limitation on the number of attempts continue like last year.
The maximum age limit is 32 years for candidates belonging to the General Category, 35 years for Other Backward Classes and 37 years for candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories.
The number of attempts for General Category stands at 6 while it is 9 for OBCs. Differently-abled aspirants have been allowed a 10-year relaxation and nine attempts.
There is no limit on the number of attempts for the SCs and STs.
