Of the 1.89 lakh students who have applied for the engineering stream, 1.79 lakh students turned up for the test, taking the attendance to 94.84 per cent.
Similarly, the number of applicants was 1.03 lakh for agriculture and medical streams and the attendance was 98,750, thus the percentage of turnout was 95.67 in both the States.
Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao released the CET key for engineering, while Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas released the same for the agriculture and medial streams in the presence of officials of the Education Department and local elected representatives.
Special arrangements
Chairman of the EAMCET convening committee and Vice-Chancellor of the JNTUK V.S.S. Kumar, who monitored the pattern of the entrance test in the two States from here, said that the turnout was good for both the streams and no case of late entry into the examination hall was reported. “As the one-minute rule was in force, all the students followed it strictly and reached the examination centres concerned before the scheduled time,” he said.
Convener of the AP EAMCET-2016 Ch. Sai Babu said that keeping in view of the heat wave situation in the two States, special arrangements were made for the students at the examination centres. “Besides arranging water kiosks at all the centres, we also made arrangements for the distribution of buttermilk to the students. Similarly, we ensured uninterrupted power supply to ensure the ceiling fans were on during the time of the test,” he said.
Prof. Sai Babu said that the preliminary key would be uploaded to the website www.apeamcet.org on Friday night and the objections would be accepted till May 4.
The final key along with the result would be released on May 9, he said
