A total of 36,393 candidates appeared for the Telangana State Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TS-TET) held in 177 examination centres in the district on Sunday.
According to official sources, the TET, a pre-qualification for recruitment of teachers in government-run schools, was conducted smoothly across the district. As many as 10,303 candidates wrote Paper-I held in the morning at the designated centres across the district.
A total of 26,090 candidates appeared for Paper-II held in the afternoon session.
Of the total 42,081 registered candidates, 5,688 candidates were absent.
Joint Collector D. Divya visited the examination centres at SR&BGNR Government Degree and PG College and two other institutes in town to oversee the TET.
Adilabad Special Correspondent adds:
The TET was conducted peacefully across several centres in Adilabad district. According to a press release, the total number of candidates allotted for Paper I in the forenoon session was 5,589, of whom 5,212 were present. For Paper II, the total number of candidates allotted were 9,987, and 9,150 appeared for the test.
Karimnagar Special Correspondent adds:
The Teachers Eligibility Test was conducted in 184 centres in Karimnagar district.
In the first paper, against a total of 8,298 candidates, 7,844 appeared for the test.
For paper 2 in the afternoon session, against a total of 35,289 candidates, 32,831 appeared and 2,458 abstained from the test.
Nizamabad Special Correspondent adds:
A total of 28,526 candidates appeared for the TET held in the district. As many as 30,246 candidates applied for the test, but 1,720 abstained from it.
About 8,595 candidates wrote Paper–I, while 19,931 attempted Paper-II, according to an official release.
