Hyderabad: It has been a long wait for candidates aspiring to join PG professional courses in Telangana.
The certificate verification process for those qualifying in the TS Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET-2016) was completed more than a month back. But they were not given the chance to exercise web options for choosing courses and colleges, which is a customary practice that follows a few days after the verification process.
Candidates are clueless about the delay. They have been visiting the official website daily for the last four weeks hoping that the window for web options will open. The statement on the website reads - “exercising web options will resume later.”
According to organisers, they are waiting for the fee to be fixed for PG courses, which is due this year. The Telangana Admission Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) had finalised fee for M.E, M.Tech, M.Pharm etc courses in various colleges and sent it to the government for approval.
Earlier the fee varied from Rs 57,000 to nearly a lakh depending on facilities at a given college. With private college managements having sought a hike, there is a chance of some increase in the fees charged for PG courses.
