A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice Anis on Thursday made it clear that the private medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have to fill all the management quota B-Category seats, if necessary by second counselling. The C category NRI seats cannot exceed the limit fixed by the Supreme Court. The orders in effect put an end to conversion of B category management quota seats (fee of Rs. 11 lakh) to C category NRI quota (fee of Rs. 33 to 55 lakh) by the managements in two states. The petitioners contended that when second counselling is done for the A category the same method shall be adopted for the B category seats too.
