Hyderabad: In a relief to medical seat hopefuls in Telangana and AP, the SC on Wednesday extended the deadline for MBBS admissions by a week till October 7.
The Telangana government has sought an extension of 15 days on the ground that the Eamcet-2 question paper was leaked and it led to Eamcet-3, which delayed counselling for admissions. AP government and private college associations in both the states too impleaded in the case and filed petitions seeking similar extension if the deadline is extended in Telangana. The SC, however, extended the deadline only by a week. As per earlier SC directions, the cut-off date for MBBS admissions is September 30 across the country. While only two days remain for the deadline to end, TS could complete only the first round of counselling.
