Hyderabad: President Pranab Mukherjee will be invited as the chief guest to inaugurate the year-long Osmania University centenery celebrations slated for next year.

A review meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari also decided to invite Nobel laureates and OU alumni who are occupying top positions.
The tentative list of Nobel Prize winners includes Dr Kailash Satyarathi, Dr Amartya Sen (India), Dr Randy W. Schekman (US), Dr Harold E.Varmus and Dr Stephen W. Hall (Germany).

The meeting decided that inaugural programme would be held for three days from April 26, which includes a session exclusively for OU alumni, seminar on the role of Osmania University in promotion of education and different cultural events reflecting its glorious history. Noted lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja has written a song for the occasion.

The calender includes international conferences, science congress, social science congress, science exhibition, national sports events, release of compendiums on OU History, Role of OU in nation building.
