HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) is pinning hopes on High Court intervention so that fees in private schools in the state capital are regulated. A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed by parents in this regard which is likely to come up for hearing on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned here that the parents’ body knocked the doors of the court as a result of the indiscriminate hike in annual tuition fees by private institutions year after year. This PIL was in addition to their earlier plea on admission fees which schools were fleecing from parents at the time of new admissions.
HSPA was told by the Chief Justice to back up their case against private schools by submitting information of fee structure of some of the schools found to collect exorbitant fees.
Executive Member Ashish Naredi said that they have asked parents whose kids are studying in various schools in the city to give fee structure details so that the matter could be brought to the notice of the court.
