HYDERABAD: Following directives from deputy chief minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University directed all affiliated colleges to install biometric attendance system across institutes before the year ends.
There are 158 engineering colleges across Telangana with over 57,000 students. In a notice issued to all colleges recently, the university has urged managements to adopt biometric attendance system for students as well as faculty members. While biometric for faculty members will be taken up in the first phase, the same for students has to be taken up in the second phase.
The university has directed all college managements to complete phase 1 of installing BAS for faculty members by December 19 and simultaneously take up phase 2 for students.
