Minister expresses concern over lethargy on the part of officials of schools
Expressing concern over lethargy on the part of officials of the various social welfare hostels and residential schools, Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender instructed the installation of bio-metric attendance system at all the social welfare residential schools and hostels to check the attendance of the staff including warden.
At a review meeting with the officials here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the legislators concerned would sanction funds from their constituency development funds for the purchase and installation of bio-metric attendance machines in all hostels. He instructed the hostel wardens to make their attendance through bio-metric system.
He informed the officials to close down the hostels which have less than 50 inmates and admit them in residential schools.
Promising to solve all the problems in hostels and residential schools, he directed the tahsildars and MPDOs to make visits to hostels at least once in a week. He also told the Collector and the legislator concerned to visit at least a hostel and a PHC every month.
He also instructed the authorities to remove the silt from the SRSP canals under the NREGS scheme as was done in Peddapalli district. He also called upon the officials to play an active role in declaring the entire Karimnagar district as open defecation-free (ODF) by February 25. ZP chairperson Tula Uma, State cultural council chairman Rasamayi Balakishan, MLC N Laxman Rao, MLAs G Kamalakar, B Shoba and V Satish Babu, IDC chairman Eda Shankar Reddy, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed and others were also present.
