Students of the Telangana Social Welfare Hostels have achieved something big, again.

As many as 28 students of social welfare and five students of tribal welfare residential schools have made it to the prestigious Azim Premji University in Bengaluru .

What makes their feat remarkable is that they have secured admissions through the national-level entrance exam for the undergraduate programme.

“Never before did we get so many seats, and it is a golden moment in the history of residential societies. The entire credit goes to the teachers and students for their hard work and commitment,” said Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar.

He also thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Scheduled Caste Development Jagadishwar Reddy for their unstinted support to the educational advancement of deprived children under the KG-PG Mission, a press release issued on Wednesday said.
