Addressing at one-day workshop on ELT conducted by the V.P. Siddhartha Public School on Saturday, Ms. Ray urged the teachers to give effective assessments and practical exposure to the concepts. She gave a practical demonstration of her suggestions by teaching the LKG students with innovative tools, play and fun, and also explained how to develop listening and speaking skills for students of primary and secondary standards.
Ms. Ray emphasised the need to develop poetry reading and collaborative writing for students of VI and VII standards. She felt that there was a need to teach letter and word recognition and vocabulary development. Stories should be used to develop oral skills, while games and creative work should be used for language development.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session with teachers from the host and other schools like K.C.P. Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public School, Kanuru and A.A.N.M. & V.S.R.S.R. School, Gudlavalleru. Principal C.V. Ramanaiah was present
