VISAKHAPATNAM: Software giant Oracle (India) will establish an Oracle Knowledge Centre at GITAM for the MBA students of GITAM Institute of Management. This is first-of-its-kind in India, education wing head of Oracle India Anand Kapai.
Mr. Kapai and GITAM University Registrar P.M. Valli singed the MoU in the presence of Vice-Chancellor M. Gangadhara Rao on Friday. Oracle India would also start an Oracle Workforce Development Programme (WDP) for GITAM engineering students, to help the students to bridge the gap between their academic learning and industry demands. This would expose the students to the e-business suite and thereby create paths in the all verticals of ERP, according to a press release.
Scope
GITAM students would be able to learn over 1,700 courses of Oracle, which include Oracle Financials, CRM, HRMS, SCM, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards Enterprise One and World, Siebel, Demantra and G-Log products and would help them to land jobs in highly lucrative area internationally.
Prof. Gangadhara Rao said that the faculty and students must gain from the new facilities. The Oracle education head said that his company would conduct seminars, offer a forum for discussions with Oracle’s Global Recruitment Team. Principals of campus colleges K. Sivarama Krishna, N. Laxmana Das and P. Suresh and placement officer Kishan Khaza along with a professor Rama Krishna participated.
