Rajendra Nagar College emerges overall champions

BAPATLA (GUNTUR DT.): The Agricultural College Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad has emerged overall champion at the three-day Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University Second Phase Sports Meet on the Bapatla Agricultural College.
Rajendra Nagar College won the Table Tennis Tournament and stood second in others to bag the overall championship. Bapatla Agricultural College was the winner of Chess, Caroms and Volleyball matches, but could not top the list overall.
At the valedictory function of the Agricultural University inter-collegiate sports meet in B.V. Nath Auditorium in Bapatla Agricultural College on Thursday, Registrar L. Jalapathi Rao asked students to improve their overall personality by regularly participating in such co-curricular activities also. Prakasam district Collector Kantilal Dande said if the students had three ‘D’s, they would come up in life in flying colours.
The three ‘D’s were Determination, Dedication and Discipline. Students should take up problems of life also in a sportive spirit. As an alumnus of the college, he recollected his student days. Member of University Board of Management A. Satayanarayana Reddy was the guest of honour. University Professor of Physical Education A. Pratap Reddy presented a report on the events.
Assistant Professor of Physical Education A. Purushottama Rao coordinated the prize distribution session. Associate Dean of Bapatla Agricultural College A. Subba Rao and others spoke, while Student Activities officer-in-charge P.V. Krishanayya proposed a vote of thanks.
The winners of other events: Shuttle Badminton - Nyra Agricultural College; Ball Badminton- Aswaraopet Agricultural College; Table Tennis - Rajendra Nagar Agricultural College; Chess- Bapatla Agricultural College; Caroms - Bapatla Agricultural Engineering College; Volleyball - Bapatla Agricultural College; and Basketball - Aswaraopet Agricultural College; Overall Champion: Rajendra Nagar Agricultural College.
