Twenty-one commerce stream students of Railway Junior College, Lallaguda, Secunderabad have been selected to receive the merit scholarship for excellent performance in Intermediate Public Examination, 2009 from Union Ministry of Human Resource Department.
The scholarships are under a new Central scheme for college and university students from the academic year, 2008-09. Under this scheme, students who secure more than 80 per cent marks are eligible for this scholarship and will be paid Rs 1,000 per month for three years for regular/ professional degree and Rs. 2,000 per month for fourth and fifth year professional degree/ PG courses for maximum period of 10 months in an academic year.
Selected students are Annoju Acharya, Rathod Ranu, M. Dinesh, T. Suresh, Mohd. Sameer, D. Lurd Kumar, A. Srinivas, S. Srividya, M. Saritha, J. Swapna, P. Lavanya, S.N.T. Sujatha, G. Sirisha, T. Sreeja, A. Rehmani, G. Kalpana, P. Sravanika, C. Rekha, K. Radhika, G.Y. Latha and B. Pooja Singh. The scholarships are divided equally among boys and girls and in the ratio of 3:2:1 for science, commerce and humanities.
