VISAKHAPATNAM: Vignan Institute of Information Technology, Duvvada, in association with Millennium Software Solutions will be hosting a campus selection drive on Saturday at VIIT campus. The campus selection is being organised on behalf of HCL BPO- Chennai. According to the placement officer of VIIT B.V. Kishore Kumar selection drive was open to all graduates, diploma holders and PG candidates. G. Sridhar Reddy of Millennium Software Solutions said IT and ITES sector needs about one lakh freshers and young minds should utilise this opportunity.

APMESA’s plea

The AP Municipal Engineering Services Association (APMESA) has urged Municipal Administration Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy to take steps for rationalisation of staffing pattern in urban local bodies.

A delegation of the association led by general secretary K.A. Meher Baba met the Minister during his visit to the city and told him about the shortage of staff in ULBs. Recruitment to fill vacant posts should be taken up so as to improve services in the urban areas, the association told him.

The Minister said that all steps were being taken (for rationalisation) and the file awaited clearance by the Finance Department and the Chief Minister was also keen on it.
