University is introducing the entrance test from this year as per UGC guidelines
HYDERABAD: The Ph.D eligibility test of Osmania University for admission into Ph.D programmes of different faculties will be held on March 13.
As per the new the University Grants Commission guidelines that admissions into Ph.D programme should be based on an eligibility test, the university is introducing the entrance test from this year. B. Rajeswara Reddy, Director, Directorate of Admissions said that 9,128 candidates have registered for the examination in 49 subjects.
The maximum number of 1,190 candidates are appearing for entry into Business Management course followed by Telugu (529) and English (526). Law, Education and Commerce subjects have also seen big numbers.
Prof. Reddy said the examination consists of two sessions starting from 9.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Hall-tickets have been dispatched and details like time, subject and centre address are mentioned in the hall-ticket itself.
Candidates can also down load the hall-ticket from ‘ www.osmania.ac.in’ if they don’t receive by post.
