HYDERABAD:Under pressure from the management of private colleges, the government has agreed to hike the fees for engineering, MBA and MCA courses from the ensuing academic year.
The fee for a seat in the engineering courses in the convenor quota (categoryA) will be increased from Rs 30,200 to Rs 34,700 a year, or by 15 per cent.
The fee for the management quota seats (category-B) will be increased from Rs 91,000 to Rs 1,07,000. The fee for MBA and MCA seats in the convenor quota will see a 22 per cent hike from Rs 26,700 to Rs 32,600.
The fee in management quota will go up from Rs 70,300 to Rs 90,000.
Sources said the decision to increase the fee was taken by the CM, Mr K.Rosaiah, with members of Admissions and Fee Regulation Committee, V-Cs of technological universities and APSCHE officials.
