GUNTUR: Practising managers participated in a two-day conference on Operations Management in
manufacturing units organised on the Vignan University campus on Wednesday and Thursday.
Exposure to the experiences of those from the industry would greatly help the students and
faculty, said chancellor L. Rathaiah.
At a press conference at the end of the seminar, university Vice-Chancellor V. Govardhan Rao
said that the university would organise a ‘UK education exhibition' with British Council on May
21 in which 17 universities from the U.K. would participate to explain to students about higher
education opportunities there.
This exhibition would also help build relationships with U.K. universities for faculty and
students exchange programmes, he said.
Vignan would also conduct summer training programmes in association with the INDO-U.S.
Collaboration for Engineering Education. The university chancellor said that vast exposure in
teaching, research and administration for Mr. V Govardhan Rao as senior professor in IIT- Mumbai
would help Vignan realise its vision.
Vignan R&D director K Vijaya Kumar offered material and moral assistance to budding
entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
He said that the university would help industries get R&D inputs, technical know-how and help in
management systems development.
