Hyderabad: IIT-Joint Entrance Test (JEE) toppers from the state bagged most of the AIEEE ranks too. Sabareesh Nikhil, eighth rank holder in IIT-JEE, while A Jitender Reddy, the all-India first rank holder in IIT-JEE, bagged the first and second ranks respectively in the B Arch stream of the AIEEE, results of which were announced on Sunday.
The second rank in B Tech category was secured by Anurag Reddy, who had earlier secured 135th rank in IITJEE. Incidentally, all three were classmates in Narayana Junior College, Central Office campus in the city. The students said they had helped each other during preparation for the entrance tests. Toppers from the state include, A Jitender Reddy (seventh rank in JEE), who secured fourth rank in B Tech stream, T Meghashyam, who secured fifth rank in B Arch. Other rank holders in AIEEE are: B Bhargav (6th rank- B Arch), Sai Krishna (7th rank - B Arch), Venkata Ravindra Babu (B Tech - 8th rank) and Neeraj Gopal (10th rank - B Arch).
Anurag Reddy, the 2nd rank holder in B Tech stream, dedicated his success to Telangana struggle. “I dedicate my success to the fulfilment of separate T state dream,” Reddy said. Over 100 students from the state have got ranks below 500 in AIEEE, experts said.
