AIEEE: corporate colleges strike it rich

VIJAYAWADA: Students belonging to various colleges in the city secured top ranks in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), the results of which were released on Sunday. The city students scored better ranks when compared to last year's test.

“I am very happy for the top rank. It is what I have been expecting. The credit for this goes to the programmes given by my college,” said M. Nikhil Chandra, who got 5th rank and who is a student of Sri Chaitanya College. Principal B. Ramakrishna said that Mr. Nikhil Chandra and another student G. Sandeep Kumar also got 5 th rank while V. Rajesh got 7th rank.

Mr. Ramakrishna claimed that Mr. Nikhil Chandra stood all India first in the B.Arch branch of the AIEEE examination. Similarly, G. Sandeep Kumar scored second rank. “It is delightful that our students have reaped good results. Local students are doing extremely well in the all India tests. The results are improving with each passing year,” the principal said.

Stating that excellent study material was being prepared every year, Mr. Ramakrishna said that the teaching staff members were upgrading their skills on a constant basis year by year so as to meet the standards of the all India examinations. He expressed the hope that in the years to come, the city students would get even better ranks and in greater numbers.

Rankers felicitated

Mr. Ramakrishna and others felicitated the rankers on the occasion, saying that they did the city proud by coming out with flying colours in a prestigious examination.

First ranker Nikhil Chandra said that it was a dream come true for getting the 5 {+t} {+h} rank in the AIEEE B. Tech branch and that he would remain thankful to his college and the teaching staff who helped him to prepare for the examinations extremely well.

Sri Chaitanya students excel

GUNTUR: Students of Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Guntur have again come out with flying colours in the All India Engineering Entrance Examinations, the results of which were declared on Sunday.

It virtually rained ranks as the College secured 2, 12 th ranks respectively in the All-India category while securing 1, 4, 48 ranks in the State category. The duo of Abhinaya Swaroop and A. Janardhana Reddy, who secured 2nd rank in the IIT-JEE (S.C Category) and 7th rank respectively, have again peaked in the AIEEE. While Swaroop secured 2nd rank in the AIEEE, Janardhan Reddy secured 12th rank.

Other students did not lag behind. Maturu Siva Teja bagged 48th rank.

At a function held on college main campus at Lakshmipuram, assistant general manager Durga Prasad said that the college has been marching ahead impressively. He reminded that the students of Chaitanya College bagged 2, 7 and 91st rank in the IIT-JEE.

The students also scored impressively in the AIEEE by securing 41 ranks in the first 1000 ranks, 62 ranks out of 5,000 and 205 ranks in 10,000.
