HYDERABAD : Due to the goof- ups in Inter evalua- tion, the Board has allowed all students another chance to apply for re-verification till July 6 and decided to take action on 1,000 lecturers.
As many as 4,000 June 28: As many as 4,000 students were given lesser marks in the intermediate public exams held in March this year by negligent evaluators.
While 3,000 students were awarded 1 to 5 marks less than they secured, another 1,000 students were awarded 6 to 10 marks less than they actually got.
Of the total 20,000 students who applied for reverification of their answer scripts, 16,000 were found to have got the marks they deserved.
The Board of Intermediate Education had earlier confessed that a student who was awarded ‘zero marks’ in economics paper got 75 marks after re-verification, creating uproar among students and parents.
To salvage the situation, the Board has allowed all students another chance to apply for re-verification till July 6 and has decided to initiate action against nearly 1,000 lecturers for their negligence. “We will not appoint these lecturers as evaluators in future,” said Mr G.Balaramaiah, secretary, BIE. “Departmental proceedings will be initiated against government lecturers while in the case of private college lecturers, we will write to the managements concerned to take suitable action.” Meanwhile, the Board on Monday announced the results of second year advanced supplementary exams. A total of 3,06,356 candidates appeared for the exams and 1,14,304 cleared it. Students can apply for recounting by paying Rs 100 per paper.
For re-verification and photocopies of answer scripts, they need to pay Rs 600 per paper by July 7.
