Aim ing to bring greater accuracy and international standards to the Common Admission Test (CAT), the agency, Prometric, which is organising the examination, has planned to introduce different sets of question papers from this year.

“Each question paper will be a little different from the other, but its evaluation would be done on the same scale,” the managing director of Prometric, Mr Soumitra Roy, said.

“Since each question paper will be different, it might be possible that some questions are tougher than others. We’ll keep this mind while conducting evaluation,” he added. He said that the agency has made special arrangements to maintain accuracy and impartiality while testing students in the CAT-2010 examination.

The examination will be held between October 27 and November 24, in 33 cities across the country. The duration of the exam will be two-and-a-half hours. Last year, the exam was held online and had encountered several technical problems, raising doubts about the new method.
