GUNTUR: The innovations in technological education should be blended with India's rich culture and tradition, said Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman Ajeya Kallam on Sunday.
Addressing a meeting after inaugurating Kallam Haranadha Reddy Institute of Technology at Chowdavaram on NH-5, Mr. Ajeya Kallam said premier educational institutions in the country should be a role model to others while blending the core academics with rich cultural ethos found in vedas, Upanishads and Dharma.
The rapid industrial development being witnessed all over the world has been fuelling the demand for a talented pool of engineering graduates, he said while pointing out that only higher institutions offering quality education would stand above the rest. The technical education being provided in the country should be able to offer solution to regional problems and should be able to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. Andhra Bank Chief General Manager R.J. Vaidyanathan said the bank was proud to associate with the Kallam Group of Companies. He said the bank had increased the target of disbursing educational loans from Rs.1,700 crore to Rs.1,900 crore.
Income Tax Commissioner V.J. Vinay Kumar, Ramky Group chairman A. Ayodhya Rami Reddy also spoke. College principal B.L.N. Sastri said the college was offering CSE, ECE, EEE, Civil and Mechanical branches from the academic year 2010-11 and added that admissions were in progress in the management category.
Kallam Group chairman Kallam Haranadha Reddy also spoke. College director M. Umashankar Reddy and M.D K. Mohan Reddy were also present.
