VISAKHAPATNAM: Varaha Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Educational Trust and Group of Institutions has started a PGDM programme at their campus in Narava from this academic year. The two-year programme will have four specialisations: Marketing, finance, HR and international business. The group already runs an engineering college, a B-School with a full-fledged MBA programme and an MCA programme.
At a press meet organised by the institute here on Monday, director of the college P. Srinivas Rao said the PGDM course was an autonomous programme, approved by the AICTE and affiliated to JNTU-Kakinada. “The entry is through MAT, XAT, CAT and ICET. The course is designed to suit the industry needs and we have incorporated a number of project assignments within the two-year study period, and we will follow the case study method of teaching. We also have separate modules for developing soft skills,” he said.
The course is priced at Rs.2.20 lakhs, but the institute offers a scholarship up to Rs.1 lakh. The course is open to all graduates.
“In total, we have 60 seats and 30 of them are being offered on scholarship. The scholarship is based on merit (graduation marks) and a written test, which will be conducted on Sept. 10.
The application forms for the test are made available at Millennium Software Solutions, Dwarakanagar,” said Dr. Srinivas.
The college was set up on a 30-acre integrated campus. It has wi-fi connectivity and other educational needs like library and air-conditioned classrooms.
Secretary and correspondent of the institute P. Venkateswara Rao released a brochure in the presence of the CEO of the group R.K. Singh and college principal Ch. Diwakar.
