Hyderabad : The committee appointed by the state to identify “deficiencies” in engineering colleges pertaining to faculty and infrastructure will submit its report by November 15. The committee has obtained data from 90 per cent of the total 700 engineering colleges in the state so far on availability of faculty and infrastructure facilities.
It is expected to grade the colleges into four categories on the basis of about 20 parameters pertaining to the quality of faculty and infrastructure.
The colleges with poor grading will be issued warnings and would be asked to rectify the “deficiencies” within a specified timeframe. Failure to rectify the defects would result in derecognition of such colleges. The government is also planning to exempt colleges with poor grading from the fee scheme.
