KARIMNAGAR: A series of presentations were made on various medical advancements and research in the medical field by eminent medical practitioners and specialists from super speciality hospitals during the Continuous Medical Education (CME) programme by the all-women Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Karimnagar district on Sunday.
The daylong session at the IMA hall saw speakers talking and presenting papers on various topics. The programme started with Dr. B. Shankar, a senior physician of Jagtial, who spoke on “DPP-4 Paradigm shift in the management of T2DM”, Dr. G. Ravichandar, assistant professor, Urology, Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad presented a paper on “Urological injuries in gynaecological practice”.
Dr. P.S. Vali, assistant professor of Nephrology, Osmania General Hospital and consultant Indus Hospital, Hyderabad, spoke on “Conservative Management of CKD-emphasis on drugs and diet”, Dr. M.S. Reddy, managing director, Asha Hospital and editor of Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine, spoke on “Anxiety/Depression –When does normal emotion become clinical diagnosis” while Dr. Siva Reddy, Head, Department of Neurosurgery, Care Hospital, Hyderabad elaborated the “Recent advances and development in Neurosurgery”.
Dr. P.L.N. Kapardhi, senior interventional cardiologist, Global Hospital, Hyderabad, spoke on “Current guidelines and practice of hypertension”, Dr. A. Rakesh Kumar, Gastroenterology, Osmania Hospital, Hyderabad articulated the “Approach to hepatitis-B in pregnant women”, Dr. D. Sribhushan Raju, Head, Department of Nephrology, NIMS Hyderabad, talked about “Pregnancy and renal disease”, Dr. A. Laxminarayana, senior physician, Karimnagar, spoke about “Pre-diabetes” and Dr. A. Srinivas Kumar, Cardiologist, Care Hospital discussed about “Acute MI care”.
The programme was conducted by IMA district president Dr. Srilatha, general secretary Dr. Akula Shailaja, treasurer Dr. B. Jhansilaxmi. The IMA leaders E. Vijayender Reddy, V. Bhoom Reddy, Dr. Yakaiah, Dr. Bhagya Reddy and others were also present.
