KARIMNAGAR: There were ample employment opportunities in the banking sector in the coming three to four years and students must seize the opportunity, said Siva Sivani Institute of Management (SSIM), Hyderabad, group director (operations) K.S. Ramchandra Rao.
Speaking at a seminar on ‘Opportunities in Management' organised by The Hindu Education Plus in association with SSIM at SRR government degree and PG college here on Saturday, he said that the banking sector would create lakhs of jobs in another four years period following the retirement of existing staff and opening up of new bank branches in the country.
“The opportunities are aplenty, but we should be more employable”, he told the students.
Outlining the importance of communication skills and English language, he said that the students should do SWOT analysis (strengths, weakness, opportunities and threat) to achieve chosen goal. He also explained about the various opportunities in the management sector with the growing economy in the country. DGM (HR) ITC paper board division K.J.A. Swarup said that India would emerge number one in the world and there was good scope and employment opportunities in the services sector such as banking, telecommunications etc.
A student should not only be good in academics but also keep abreast of what's happening around the world by reading newspapers, he pointed out. SRR Government Degree and PG College principal K Murali thanked The Hindu for conducting such orientation programmes for the benefit of students coming from rural areas . He said that the formation of The Hindu Education Plus clubs was benefiting the student community. Regional general manager of The Hindu P. Ranga Reddy also spoke.
