HYDERABAD: After three days of poor response from students, Osmania University has decided to postpone the ongoing first semester examinations of MCA second and third year courses.
They will now be held from January 29 along with other PG examinations.
Details on website
The detailed time table will displayed on the website www.osmania.ac.in soon. However, those students who have written three examinations held from December 27 to 29 need not appear again for those papers.
The decision was taken after Vice-Chancellor T. Tirupati Rao met the Higher Education Minister Damodar Rajnarsimha and apprised him of the situation.
‘Principals not keen'
He told the Minister that the principals of examination centres were not keen to conduct fearing disturbances and pressure from the agitators.
Out of the 11 examinations of MCA second and third year scheduled from December 27 only three could be held. The response was poor on the all three days as students boycotted them demanding withdrawal of cases booked against those agitating for Telangana.
OU authorities said that only 565 candidates out of 8,125 appeared for the second year exam on the first day while 321 students appeared out of 5,396 for the third year exam. On the third day 634 students out of 8,125 took the test on Wednesday.
