RAJAHMUNDRY: Suryanarayana Raju, Dean, Andhra University, on Saturday visited District Resource Centre in Government (Autonomous) Arts College where undergraduate teachers were undergoing training in different subjects. Addressing the training programme, Mr. Raju said that teacher quality in undergraduate colleges was the most crucial factor in determining the quality of higher education in the State
. He said there existed a large umber of undergraduate colleges offering non-professional courses such as B.A., B.Com, B.Sc affiliated to various universities. He said Academic Staff Colleges of Universities were limited and not able to cater to the needs of the large number of undergraduate college teachers. That was the reason for AP State Council of Higher Education to conduct training programme for undergraduate college teachers. G.S. Moses, Principal of the Government Arts College, spoke.
