HYDERABAD : Nizamabad students bagged top honours in the Intermediate Second Year exams, the results of which were announced on Thursday.
Ch. Bharat Kumar secured the highest, 993 out of 1,000 in MPC and Sabahat Badar topped the BiPC stream with 991. Both are from Nizamabad.
As many as 106 students from the Narayana Group secured more than 980. In MPC, Narayana student Himanshu and Venkata Sravani scored 988, Srija scored 987 and Snehith Reddy, Sirisha and Sukanya scored 986. In BiPC, Narayana students Geethanjali scored 982 and Shraya Yadav, Sujitha, Navya, Sudheer Shankar, Ronita Reddy, Asiya Begum and Aswini Kiran scored 981 each.
Students from the Sri Chaitanya group fared marginally better with 108 students secured over 980 marks. In MPC, Sri Chaitanya students P. Sai Eswar Yashwanth got 987, H. Srinivas Gari Mallik scored 985, D. Murali Mohana Krishna, J. Vara Prasad and Pooja P. Bhatt scored 984 each. In BiPC, Sri Chaitanya students M.Jethavya Reddy and M.Venkata Nagalakshmi scored 987, B. Sravya 986, M. Aravind and S. Sadiq Subhan scored 985 each.
Of the total 8,97,953 students who appeared for the Second Year exams in the state, 4,48,281 (63.27 per cent) passed. The pass percentage, however, was 1.42 per cent lower than last year.
