HYDERABAD: Son of a beedi worker topped in the MPC stream securing 993 marks in the Intermediate second year. Chintakayala Bharath Kumar, a student of Shaankary Junior College, Nizamabad, secured the highest marks in the State and his achievement is worthy as he hails from a poor family.
Shaankary College Director, Dharmapuri Sanjay, said that Bharat's father passed away when he was a child while his mother is a beedi worker.
He secured 572 marks in SSC and seeing his performance the college management decided to provide free education. “His achievement is worthy given his poor financial background and the backward area he hails from,” Mr. Sanjay said.
Narayana group excels
Students of Narayana group excelled in both the streams, said P. Narayana, chairman. In MPC stream, Himanshu and Venkata Sravani got 988 marks, Srija got 987, Snehith Reddy, Sirisha and Sukanya got 986 Marks. He said 106 students scored marks above 980 while 14,060 students scored marks above 900. In the BiPC stream, 87.24 per cent students got A and B grades.
Similarly, 20,160 students scored 100 per cent marks in Mathematics, 965 students got full marks in Physics, 1158 in Chemistry, 498 in Botany and 186 students got 100 per cent marks in Zoology.
Dr. Narayana attributed the success to comprehensive programme, special exams, result analysis and individual care.
Chaitanya tops in BiPC
In the BiPC stream, M. Jethavya Reddy and M. Venkata Nagalakshmi of Sri Chaitanya scored 987 marks each, according to Sushmashree, Academic Director. In the MPC stream, P. Sai Eswar Yashwanth secured the highest marks of 987 followed by H. Srinivas Gari Mallik with 985. D. Murali Mohana Krishna, J. Vara Prasad and Pooja P. Bhatt secured 984 marks each. In the BiPC stream, B. Sravya scored 986 and M. Aravind and S. Sadiq Subhan got 985. In the MEC stream, C. Srilakshmi scored 969 followed by Durga SNSV Ramana Rao and C. Chaitanya (960).
She said 30 students secured more than 983 marks. She said 20,324 students scored 900 and above marks. About 85 per cent students secured A and B grades in MPC and 90 per cent students in BiPC.
The A.P. Residential Educational Institutions Society (APREIS) secretary, G. Gopal Reddy, said that out of the 1,123 students who appeared from 13 junior colleges under its jurisdiction 1,077 passed the examination.
Three colleges secured 100 per cent results while another seven secured results above 90 per cent.
The NRI Academy in a statement said that V. Shailaja scored 986 in BiPC stream which is the highest mark. In the MPC stream, T. Srichandana and P. Anusha secured 985 marks.
Several students scored more than 950 marks.
